The East Auckland Youth Space is a casual, multi-purpose public space for 12 – 24 year olds inside the mall at Botany Town Centre. At the Youth Space you can study, play games, attend events or just spend time with friends.

It is free to visit the Youth Space. You do not need to book your visit and you do not need any kind of membership to access the space. You can arrive and leave whenever you like during the opening hours, there is no time limit on your visit. You can visit the Youth Space as often as you like. You are allowed to bring food and drink into the space.
Opening hours
The Youth Space is open 7 days a week. It is closed on public holidays.
Normal opening hours
Monday – Thursday, 3.30pm – 6pm
Friday, 3.30pm – 7pm
Saturday and Sunday, 12pm – 5pm
School holiday opening hours
Monday – Friday, 12pm – 5pm
Saturday and Sunday, 12pm – 5pm
If there are any changes to the Youth Space opening times, they will be published on Instagram, @eastaklyouthspace.
What can you do at the Youth Space?
The Youth Space is there to be used however you like, as long as you are respectful of the space, staff and other people using the space. We want it to be a space that feels safe where you can enjoy yourself. Check out the Youth Space Code of Conduct before you visit.
You might want to:
- Socialise with friends and new people
- Study
- Play table tennis, foosball, air hockey, pool or on the Xbox
- Join the book club
- Craft, paint or be creative in another way

There is free Wi-Fi available in the Youth Space. The network name and password are posted on the walls around the space.
Events
Sometimes there are organised events at the Youth Space. Events are always free to attend. Past events have included art workshops, quiz nights, CV writing workshops, karaoke nights and chess competitions. Events are always optional; you can still visit the space and not join in with the event. Information about events is always posted on Instagram, @eastaklyouthspace.
