In this course you will be introduced to the fundamentals of kitchen design. You will explore the history of kitchens to discover how the the modern kitchen has evolved and how layout and planning affects efficient use and ergonomics.

A study of surface treatments, hardware, appliance requirements and construction is undertaken, along with looking at spatial planning, specification schedules, timelines and budgets.

Visits to design showrooms are also included.
