Helen Pollock:
Ritual

Helen Pollock, Ritual, 1986. Drawing.

Artist’s statement -

This exhibition reflects my interest and searching for a feminine identity more meaningful than that which Esther Harding describes and comments on in her book ‘Womens Mysteries’ beginning; ‘The characteristics which are generally considered womanly: the indiscriminating kindliness, the general or even universal charm, the yea-saying, are by no means necessarily evidences of a developed relation to the feminine principle’.

The works in Ritual represent an exploration of the Mother Goddess archetype in her various aspects. Ritual is the explorative process and the bringing to consciousness.

All exhibitions are currently offsite due to disruptions caused by the Pakuranga Eastern Busway construction. The building remains open for classes and other activities. 21 William Roberts Road, Pakuranga, is the best address to enter into navigation apps to guide you to the free parking at our door.
