This exhibition explores one facet of the ceramic works of the Auckland artist Bronwynne Cornish. The show will include a series of temples which the artist constantly returns to in her work.

She says of her recent work, ‘The first temple appeared in the ceramic installation Home is where the Heart is, which I made in 1983. Then followed Temples of Hera; Hera being a Greek goddess of love and domesticity - a married woman’s goddess. I find the clean lines of the shape very pleasing to the eye, allowing the mind to wander up the steps, pass through the pillars, and retreat to the cool spaces within. Recently the temples have become more Rococo, and primitive, part of the constantly changing scenes along the artist’s path.’

All exhibitions are currently offsite due to disruptions caused by the Pakuranga Eastern Busway construction. The building remains open for classes and other activities. 21 William Roberts Road, Pakuranga, is the best address to enter into navigation apps to guide you to the free parking at our door.
