Stories from Sāmoa

b1f870c7-223e-4530-8d99-d9c31f18662f

Stories from Sāmoa is a custom workshop designed by Te Tuhi for a Sāmoan Bilingual Unit. Primary and Intermediate students will be inspired by siapo, Sāmoan artists living in Aotearoa and cultural symbols. This workshop guides students in creating their own signs and symbols drawn from their culture. By understanding the process of siapo ‘elei, students will then carve and paint their own clay tile, appropriate for a school community garden.

This workshop was created upon the request by a school. Pre-visit slideshows and workshops have been created. Materials are provided. The workshop will also be delivered in school.
