Aaron McConchie:

Artist’s statement -

Arts primary concern is with the viewer. As an artist it is the viewer that gives my work validity and purpose. With this in mind I wish to create something which affects the viewer in a manner that, at best, cannot be explained. In a similar manner that Jung’s archetypes create an unexplained upwelling of emotion I wish to create objects that have an unconscious effect on the viewer.

Far removed from the politically and socially driven works that seem to dominate the contemporary art scene, and rely on the unbiased opinion of the culturally devoid unconscious - not to create a universal language and beauty but to approach the sublime.
