2023 Iris Fisher Scholarship recipient Bena Jackson presents a new exhibition, Urban Legend, commissioned for Te Tuhi’s foyer. As a sculptor and installation artist, often considering community actions in public space and urban environments, this new exhibition recognises ingenuity, resourcefulness and resistance. Comprising of an arrangement of sculptures, actions, and objects, the installation celebrates the ways people living in a city—not councils or businesses—work to align environments more closely with their needs and beliefs.
