Te Tuhi presents ISON: a temporal magazine-based project by Bryn Roberts and curated by Nicola Verdon. For Te Tuhi, ISON expands on previous iterations of the publication to create an immersive trade-show-style exhibition showcasing the magazine and three-dimensional content freed from the printed or digital page. Art in the form of a magazine as opposed to a magazine about art, ISON adapts a ‘user generated content’ model to make transparent the working relationships that produce content and exhibitions in the fields of art, publishing and corporate design.

ISON curated by Nicola Verdon is Te Tuhi’ s latest initiative in developing emerging art professionals. The exhibition grew out of a partnership between Te Tuhi and Ian Wedde’s postgraduate Art Writing and Curatorial Practice course in the Department of Art History, The University of Auckland. The objective is to give an emerging curator the opportunity to work closely with an artist to research, pitch, develop and install an exhibition under the mentorship of Wedde and Te Tuhi’ s staff.

All exhibitions are currently offsite due to disruptions caused by the Pakuranga Eastern Busway construction. The building remains open for classes and other activities. 21 William Roberts Road, Pakuranga, is the best address to enter into navigation apps to guide you to the free parking at our door.
