Susanne Khouri:
A Tender Tracing

Susanne Khouri has been inspired by the rune stone which is a large, flat stone artfully inscribed with patters and ancient letters describing the achievements of Vikings, a people living in Scandinavia 1300 years ago. These stones were put in the landscape along roadsides as messages to future travelers.

In these works she investigates the story of her own migration from Sweden to New Zealand. By relocating the iconic design from a Swedish runestone into the context of her personal mythology, she traces her search for memory and identity.

All exhibitions are currently offsite due to disruptions caused by the Pakuranga Eastern Busway construction. The building remains open for classes and other activities. 21 William Roberts Road, Pakuranga, is the best address to enter into navigation apps to guide you to the free parking at our door.
