Rachel Smith

BDes Int Arch and Design, BA Art History, Dip Tch Primary


Rachel has worked with Te Tuhi coordinating the Nanette Cameron School for the last 7 years. Rachel developed the Interior Design Today programme, as she saw a niche for students who wished to continue their learning and foster their relationships, not only within the design community, but with their fellow students. The programme is very successful and students return year upon year.


Rachel has a background in interior design and project management, working in both residential and commercial. She has practised around the world, in Rome, London, Melbourne, and Auckland.


Rachel has a passion to see students connect the dots and bring new appreciation and beauty to the spaces around them.

Victoria Gaylard

BHSc, NZ Diploma in Kitchen Design


Victoria’s journey with the Nanette Cameron School of Interior Design began in 2018 as a student, where she quickly discovered her passion for spatial planning and the transformative power of thoughtful design. With a strong belief that great interiors begin with understanding how people live, she brings a considered, intuitive approach to every project.


In 2022, Victoria founded (Victoria Gaylard Design) – an interior design studio based in Auckland. She has since developed a reputation for detail-driven, client-focused design and is a proud Gold member of the NZ National Kitchen & Bathroom Association and a member of the Nanette Cameron Interior Design Guild.


As co-host of Interior Design Today’s Tuesday course, Victoria is passionate about fostering community, sparking creative conversation, and helping students build confidence in their design thinking. She enjoys guiding emerging designers as they explore their own residential projects, connecting with industry professionals, and gaining real-world insight into the world of contemporary interior design.


Warm, approachable, and grounded in experience, Victoria is committed to helping students discover the joy and impact of great design.

Kim Hamilton

BA(Hons) DipTching, DipScEd


Kim Hamilton tutor Interior Design today -Kim originally studied Interior Design with  the highly acclaimed Nanette Cameron as a tutor 28 years ago. She has continued to be involved in the guild either as a member, committee member (12 years) or for the past seven years as the chair.


Kim‘s passion for Interior Design is evident in her vibrant family homes and curation of her eclectic collections and art. She is passionate about meeting new people and encouraging organizational systems in the home. She has an eye for the finer detail and loves to help others with furniture and displays in their homes. Her current home won renovation of the year for the Home magazine in 2024.


Kim has a passion for travel and uses this to explore new design concepts and ideas.

Grace Wright

MFA, BFA(Hons), A.T.C.L


Grace is a practising artist with a background in Fine Arts. She holds a Master of Fine Arts from Elam School of Fine Arts and has held multiple exhibitions in New Zealand, Australia and more recently Asia. She is represented by Gow Langsford Gallery in New Zealand and Ames Yavuz Gallery in Sydney and Singapore.


Wright’s paintings are a reflection of her world view, her coiling brush marks echoing the ‘rhythmic, cyclical nature’ she identifies as universal forms in the natural world. Wright marries alluring, harmonious colour with visceral imagery to elevate the feminine to monumental standing. Using scale to her advantage, her paintings engulf the viewer, exuding traditionally masculine virtues of power and strength (Gow Langsford Gallery)

Linda Tyler

PhD, MA (Hons)


Associate Professor of the University of Auckland, Linda Tyler has taught art and design history at Canterbury, Victoria, Waikato and Auckland universities. She currently teaches art writing and curatorial practice at Honours level in the University of Auckland's Art History Department, and supervises student research in the university’s Museums and Cultural Heritage programme.
