Art workshops in schools
Spark your students’ imagination with one of our learning programmes, delivered at your school.
Te Tuhi offers interactive, hands-on learning experiences for your classroom, tailored to students' needs. Te Tuhi will provide resources to enrich learning before, during and after your visit. Any of our workshops can be shaped for the requirements of your class.

Artist talks
As students (especially Years 10 – 13) begin to practise and expand their understanding of art, there is no better way for them to learn than directly from a contemporary artist.
Te Tuhi can arrange to bring contemporary artists to your classroom to share insights into their practice with students. Sessions could include learning how to observe artwork, artists’ techniques and processes, career highlights, how to problem-solve, gaining a deeper sense of the artist’s inspiration, identifying visual elements, how to communicate ideas or developing appropriate art vocabulary.
This is an opportunity that can inspire rangatahi in their own NCEA artistic journey. If you would like us to help you find a relevant artist based on a specific art subject, contact us via email at schools@tetuhi.art.
Top Art
Te Tuhi showcases the NZQA Top Art folios annually. Schools can bring their students along to see the NCEA Level 3 portfolios that achieved Excellence in Visual Art in the previous year. Alongside Top Art, Te Tuhi also exhibits Level 1 and 2 art portfolios by selected East Auckland secondary schools.
For upcoming submission deadlines or to book a visit, contact us via email at schools@tetuhi.art.
