‘The dogs go on with their doggy life and the torturer’s horse scratches its innocent behind on a tree.’ - Musée des Beaux Arts

Mr Glass, alias Joel Philip Myers, is arguably the finest contemporary glass artist in the United States today. The Fisher Gallery is proud to present 28 exceptional works in his first exhibition on these shores.

Some of his works are new and have never been exhibited, but here, in New Zealand for the very first time, these works will be on show.

The work is known for its sophisticated use of colours, imaginative style and classic form. Joel has more than thirty years experience trying to tame molten glass. His commitment, energy and perseverance has produced glassware of an exceptional quality, combining skills from his experience as a graphic designer and ceramicist, turning an ordinary everyday object made for looking through into extraordinary art objects produced for looking at.
