Dedicated to jewellery making, Annex is a nurturing space for contemporary jewellery practice in south-east Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. Annex aims to support practitioners, as well as encouraging new makers through providing education, networking opportunities, and access to tools and equipment.
Contemporary Jewellery is focused on object, sculpture and jewellery making for beginner to intermediate makers. This course offers an insight into riveting and other cold joining techniques with non-precious materials. Lessons include technical demonstrations, introducing different approaches and building a strong knowledge base from which to develop students’ own ideas. Enjoy exploring and experimenting, while being mentored by Sarah Walker-Holt, an experienced Aotearoa New Zealand contemporary jeweller.
