The paint and the act of painting are pivotal to Jillian Karl’s painting. Using gesso paint, Karl applies modern day frescoes to walls, ceilings, windows and any other part of the building she can.

Karl asks the visitor to have a look around and see not just the walls as a site to find art. She invites visitors to ask questions, rather than asking the artist to take on the impossible task of supplying all the answers.
