Speakingparts combines images and sound to create a feeling of being in a room full people holding a conversation. Sometimes they interrupt each other and sometimes they let one person talk at a time. Sometimes you hear a full phrase and sometimes the ‘talk’ is indistinguishable.

In addition to his exhibition Speakingparts Steve Lovett is doing a Special Artist’s Project. This work involves visitors to the Gallery on Saturday 17 April between 1 and 4pm, with the opportunity to participate in an actual artwork and receive their own free copy of the work.

Steve will be taking digital images of participants and record them for presentation in much the same way as Speakingparts. This work will provide visitors with the opportunity to participate in an artwork, make history - as there will be a record held at the Fisher Gallery, and they will receive a unique art object in the process.

Rhoda Fowler, Director/Curator for the Gallery says ‘this is a wonderful and innovative project which really gives people the chance to be part of an artwork and assist in making art.’
