About Papatūnga Artist Studio
Papatūnga Artist Studio is a new initiative from Te Tuhi to develop and nurture the vital artistic community in East Auckland. Papatūnga recognises the need for workspaces for artists at pivotal points in their careers to enable creative research, development and production. Free, temporary studio space is provided for short terms depending on requirements, for example for artists working towards significant exhibitions.

Papatūnga Artist Studio is an 80m2 light-filled, shared studio space within Te Tuhi’s gallery building in Pakuranga. It includes access to a kitchen, and workshop resources by arrangement. Support is also available from Te Tuhi’s exhibition programme team.

The shared studio is available everyday 9-5pm, except public holidays, and frequently until 8.30pm during week days in school term-time, depending on Te Tuhi staffing for out of hours bookings.

There are restrictions on materials and processes used in the shared space, to ensure that they do not interfere with the work of other artists. These restrictions include, but are not limited to the use of naked flames, toxic or chemical processes, spray paint or processes which generate dust.

Please contact us any time at exhibitions@tetuhi.art to discuss your requirements.
