Where is the gallery?
The gallery is through the glass double doors to the right-hand side of reception.

Depending on the exhibition, sometimes the gallery doors are left open and sometimes they are kept closed. You are always welcome to make your own way into the gallery whether the doors are open or closed. If you need assistance opening the doors, someone from the Front of House team will help you.
How to visit the gallery
It is free to visit the gallery. Te Tuhi's exhibitions are always free and everyone is welcome.
You can go straight into the gallery when you arrive, you do not need a ticket and you don't need to talk to anyone at reception
You are allowed to take photographs of artworks if they are for personal use.
You are not allowed to take food and drink into the gallery.
If you are visiting the gallery with a child, please hold their hand throughout the exhibition.
Please do not touch any artworks. Sometimes, exhibitions might include interactive artworks. If an artwork is interactive, there will be a sign letting you know.
If an artwork has a barrier around it, please do not cross the barrier.
There are access materials available for anyone who needs them on the wall by the entrance to the gallery. Help yourself to anything you need.

- A torch
- Communication preference badges
- Coloured reading aids
- Large print exhibition guides

If you need to use these during your visit, please let a member of our Front of House team know. We will be happy to move seating around the gallery as needed.

We welcome everyone to enjoy the artworks in your own way. Visitors might:
- Move around the gallery slowly and quietly, looking at artworks for a long time
- Move more quickly around the gallery
- Have conversations, quietly or loudly, with the people visiting with them
- Take lots of breaks, or only visit part of the gallery
- Make some noises, do some stimming, or use fidget toys or other comfort items
You can move at your own pace and enjoy the artworks loudly or quiet. We do ask that you consider the other visitors enjoying the space with you and respect the artworks. Please avoid:
- Touching any of the artworks or climbing on exhibitions, which can harm them
- Running
- Shouting, which might be startling to other visitors
- Leaving children unattended
How can I find out more about the artworks?
If you would like more information about an exhibition, you can:
Pick up a copy of the exhibition guide from the wall outside the gallery entrance. The exhibition guides are free and you are welcome to take one home with you. The guides are also available in large print and on the exhibition page on our website.

Pick up free exhibition postcards from the ledge by the main entrance or at reception. The postcards have an image from the exhibition on one side and some information about the artist and their work on the other side. You are welcome to take these home with you.

The Front of House team at reception can tell you about the exhibitions or give you a free guided tour. You don't need to make a booking for a tour, you can ask our Front of House team for one when you arrive. If you would prefer to book a tour ahead of time, you can email info@tetuhi.art or call +64 9 577 0138. During a tour, we will tell you more about the artworks and the artists and try to answer any questions you might have.
