There is level access from the car park to the building. The pathway to the main entrance is to the left of the car park. There is a large, red 'Te Tuhi' sign by the path directing you to the entrance.

A wheelchair is available for use. If you, or anyone you're visiting with, needs to use a wheelchair while at Te Tuhi, please contact the Front of House team at reception, email info@tetuhi.art or call +64 9 577 0138.

Physical access information
Te Tuhi has level access throughout the building, except into the Meeting Room, where there is a 4cm lip at the doorway. Following reburbishment, there will be a portable ramp to enable step-free access to the Meeting Room. This page will be updated when the ramp becomes available.
There is a flat, wooden pathway around the outside of Te Tuhi from the carpark on William Roberts Road, to the entrance on Reeves Road. You can use this pathway to visit the two permanent exhibitions that are in our grounds.

We ensure the furniture layout in each room available for hire has sufficient space for wheelchair users to navigate around the room. There are signs in each room showing how furniture should be arranged. You can find dimensions for each room available for hire on the Venue Hire page.
The foyer
You will enter Te Tuhi into the foyer.

The foyer is a public space. In the foyer, people might be visiting an exhibition, eating and drinking, or gathering in large groups for an event or in school groups. The foyer can become busy at any time of day.
The reception desk is in front of you to the right as you enter.

Sometimes, the foyer is used to display artwork. Artworks might be physical objects hung on the walls or displayed in the center of the space, videos played on screens or sound installations. A sound installation is an artwork created using music or sound, rather than images or objects.

There are lots of places to sit in the foyer which everyone is welcome to use.

Someone from the Te Tuhi Front of House team will be working at the desk. They will be wearing a Te Tuhi lanyard. They're here to help you.
